We want kids to love to come to church, we teach them the Bible while they’re here, and we help equip parents to teach their children how to live a Christian life.
Welcome to UBC’s super exciting, powerful, and fun-filled Kids Church program!
We take God’s command to teach His Truth to children very seriously at UBC, all while the children have a great time!
Sunday Morning Kids Church begins at 9:45 with free play, organized group games and crafts, 10:30 snack, and a countdown to our 10:45 Kick-Off Game. After the game, while still in our large group, we pitch the morning lessons and weekly “passwords” (aka memory verses. At 11:00, younger children go to their classes. Grades 1-6 worship with us in the sanctuary and then go to their classes. All classes join back together at noon to share what we’ve learned with the large group, dance to a couple VBS songs, pray, and conclude with a slideshow from last week’s “Morning Kick-Off Game”. We offer this day-camp style VBS every Sunday morning! Parents then visit after church while kids play in the courtyard and create art at the craft station.
Sunday Night Kids Church begins with open play and crafts at 5:00 and organized group games at 5:30. At 6:00 all the kids sit at the tables for a family style dinner. At 6:30, children go to their classes: grade school hears real-life Missionary Stories (often in several week installments!); preschoolers sing songs, hear a Bible Story, and enjoy a puppet show; and toddlers and babies have their Bible Class, singing, bubbles, and play time. Sunday Night Kids Church is not only tons of fun for the kids, it’s a very special time where kids of all ages gather together in love, friendship, encouragement, and support regardless of their age difference. There are no 1st graders afraid of the 2nd graders here! That all breaks down here into a group of kids who come to have fun, be nice, be encouraged, and learn more about Jesus. And if it’s your birthday week, a candle is lit, the lights go out (except for the disco ball!), and everyone sings. We are family here!
